CASE STUDY #9

Application : Boric Acid Injection Pumps

Location : Nuclear Power Plants

Specification :

* Flow rate: up to 250 l/min (66 gpm)

* Flow pressure: up to 250 bar (3,600 psi)

* Fluid: Boric acid solution (water + boron)

Description :

* WEPUKO pumps are used to inject boric acid into pressure water reactors in nuclear power plants. In a case of emergency, i.e. when all systems have failed, this injection immediately stops the nuclear reaction.

CASE STUDY #10

Application : Feed & Injection Pumps

Location : Soap Manufacturing, Fertilizer Plants, Food Industry

Specification :

* Flow rate: up to 1200 l/min (317 gpm)

* Flow pressure: up to 350 bar (5,100 psi)

* Temperature: up to 280 °C (540 °F)

* Fluid: Fatty Acid Methyl Ester, Wax Ester, Oil loaded with carbon, Coffee extract, etc.

Description :

* WEPUKO pumps are used to inject fluids into reaction vessels, usually at high pressure.

CASE STUDY #11

Application : Ships Rudder Drive Unit with Roll Stabilization

Location : On board ship

Specification :

* Flow rate: up to 375 l/min (100 gpm)

* Flow pressure: up to 350 bar (5,100 psi)

* Fluid: Mineral Oil

Description :

* Complete Power Unit with Wepuko Radial Piston Pump (RKP) with Mooring - controller and a through pump with fixed delivery, where both pumps cover the flow range from zero to maximum.

CASE STUDY #12

Application : Glycol regeneration

Location : Gas dehydration plants, Off-shore and On-shore

Specification :

* Flow rate: up to 150 l/min (40 gpm)

* Flow pressure: up to 120 bar (1,750 psi)

* Fluid: Glycols (MEG, DEG, TEG)

Description :

* These pump units are for the delivery of hot or cold glycol in a gas dehydration plant.

* The percentage of dissolved water in natural gas from deposits is relatively high. It is humid and, therefore, the gross calorific value is low.

* To dehumidify the gas, nozzles spray hot and dry glycol into the passing gas. The humidity of the gas is then absorbed by the dry glycol and afterwards regenerated by thermal treatment.

CASE STUDY #13

Application : Cement from steel slag

Location : Steel slag granulation plant

Specification :

* Flow rate: up to 222 l/min (59 gpm)

* Flow pressure: up to 130 bar (1,885 psi)

* Fluid: Dirty water, lake water

Description :

* Steel slag for cement manufacturing.

* By utilizing steel slag, a large amount of energy can be saved compared with the normal method of cement manufacture. Using a Wepuko DP207 triplex pump saves energy and therefore lowers costs.
