CASE STUDY #5

Application : Produced Water Pump

Location : Off-shore, On-shore, refineries

Specification :

* Flow rate: up to 900 l/min (238 gpm)

* Flow pressure: up to 250 bar (3,600 psi)

* Fluid: Mixtures of different fluids (sea water, oils, diesel, condensate...)

Description :

* The process is similar to the Flare Knock-Out Drum Pump; however, in this case the fluid pumped is badly soiled water with different components (sea water, toxicants, methanol, H2S). WEPUKO pumps are used when a considerable quantity has to be returned to the deposit under high pressure.

CASE STUDY #6

Application : Transport Pump

Location : Off-shore & On-shore

Specification :

* Flow rate: up to 2300 l/min (608 gpm)

* Flow pressure: up to 160 bar (2,300 psi)

* Fluid: Crude oil, hydrocarbons

Description :

* In this case, WEPUKO pumps are used to transport crude oil from large storage tanks via miles long pipelines of a smaller diameter, into the main pipeline.

CASE STUDY #7

Application : Well Service Pump

Location : Off-shore

Specification :

* Flow rate: up to 1100 l/min (290 gpm)

* Flow pressure: up to 350 bar (5,100 psi)

* Fluid: Diesel, Seawater, Glycol

Description :

* There are 2 main tasks:

* To carry out hydrostatic tests in risers (metallic flexible pipes used in offshore application) and pipes inside the platform and floating production storage offloading ships (FPSO). Hydrostatic test means to apply internal pressure to pipes and risers during a specific time to verify leakage or tightness of the system.

* To push “pigs” inside pipes and risers and to move these pigs backwards and forward using the pump and the handled fluid. The aim is to clean the internal surfaces of pipes and risers

CASE STUDY #8

Application : CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) Pumps

Location : Food and Wood Industries

Specification :

* Mass Flow: up to 20.000 kg/h (44,000 lb/h)

* Flow pressure: up to 700 bar (10,200 psi)

* Fluid: CO2 fluid

Description :

* There are 2 main uses:

* Food Industry:

* WEPUKO pumps are used to pressurize CO2 in order to bring to a supercritical condition (high pressure and high temperature). The supercritical CO2 is then used to dissolve different chemicals and essences from herbs (flavor, color, etc.) in to the CO2 fluid. The CO2 is then processed from fluid to gas so that the undesirable contents can be extracted. The final products can then be collected in the reactor either in powder or fluid form.

* Wood Industry:

* The CO2 is used as the carrying medium for different kinds of impregnation. The process is the reverse of the extraction process described above. The wood is impregnated 100%.
